The Art of Reading is a comprehensive, systematic phonics program designed to build a solid foundation for reading. Using a carefully sequenced, stepping-stone approach, the program introduces each new concept one at a time to ensure your child masters the necessary skills required for proficient reading.
Art of Reading is a mastery-based homeschool phonics program that follows a simple, open-and-go structure. Lessons are intentionally short and focused. Each lesson includes engaging, hands-on activities and consistent spiral review.
Each lesson includes a tightly controlled fully decodable reader without images, giving your child ample reading practice.
How long will all three stages take to complete?
If you start using Art of Reading at the beginning of your kindergarten year, and use it at the designed pace (5 days a week)

What Grade is Art of Reading For?
To Cover the full Kindergarten year, you will
Lesson Length
Art of Reading must be used 5 days a week.
Reading cannot be taught effectively when there are large gaps between lessons. Going 3-4 days without practice gives a child (especially a struggling reader), enough time to forget what was learned the previous week.
To avoid regression, the program is designed for a 5-day-a-week pace. The first two years of learning to read require consistency and structure, so we recommend avoiding large gaps between lessons, including NOT stopping over summer.
